Finally, family riders won’t feel left out, since Can-Am announced a 30-inch-longer Maverick Sport Max. It’s still 60 inches wide and has the same 100-horsepower, 976cc, V-twin engine as all the other Sport models. Mud riders can bring their friends and family along as well, but in this region, they will be doing it in the larger Defender. That’s right, the Defender Max Edition is now raised up with 30-inch ITP Cryptid mud tires, snorkels and a winch. The model is also powered by the 976cc V-twin; however, it puts out a mellower 72 horsepower.
Last month we brought you a write-up stating how much we liked the new Maverick Sport lineup. Well, this month it grew by three machines that can go more places and carry more people. For mud riders, Can-Am put their signature moniker “X mr” on an ITP Cryptid-shod Sport with 30-inch-tall meats and a 4500-pound winch. Of course, snorkels and a Smart-Lok front diff are standard equipment. The rock guys also get 30-inch Maxxis Liberty tires, a locking Smart-Lok front diff and rock sliders underneath the two-seat 4500-pound winch-equipped unit. Both of these models were widened four inches with arched A-arms.
